Fiber Optic
LED (light emitting diode) technology offers an archival light source significantly reducing risks associated with conventional systems such as UV and heat (IR). It offers excellent color reproduction and dimming capabilities with a small footprint ideal for display case applications. Low voltage and long-life of the LED lamps translate into to low maintenance cost.
Description
The fiber optic lighting system consists of a light projector (w/low voltage halogen lamp), light transmitter (glass fibers) and optic lenses or lamps. The light project provides the source of light (halogen bulb) away from an area physically and thermally separated from the display space. Light is transmitted by means of the glass fiber, effectively serving as a UV and IR filter.
